WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson to Sign Six-Year Contract Extension With Nike

Expected to be one of the richest shoe deals for any women’s basketball player.

Las Vegas Aces superstar and three-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson is set to sign a six-year contract extension with Nike. According to ESPN, the agreement is expected to be “one of the richest shoe deals for a women’s basketball player.”

The contract extension follows the announcement of Wilson’s signature shoe, the Nike A’One. After Wilson secured her third MVP title in May, Nike released a special-edition MVP t-shirt in her honor. Her signature shoe is scheduled for release in Spring 2025, just ahead of the upcoming WNBA season.

Wilson joins a roster of elite WNBA players like Caitlin Clark, JuJu Watkins, and Sabrina Ionescu, who have also inked lucrative shoe deals with Nike. Clark reportedly signed an eight-year contract valued at over $20 million USD, while Watkins secured a major multi-year extension in October. Ionescu launched her second signature shoe earlier this spring.

At 28, Wilson just completed her seventh WNBA season and made history as the first unanimous MVP selection since Cynthia Cooper in 1997. She also won her second Olympic gold medal this summer with USA Basketball in Paris.
