Angel Reese hosted hip-hop star Sexyy Red on Thursday’s episode of her show Unapologetically Angel. During their fun conversation, the Chicago Sky star promised to invite the rapper to one of her WNBA games next season.
Reese asked Sexyy Red, whose real name is Janae Nierah Wherry, what position she played in volleyball. When Red couldn’t remember, Reese encouraged her to attend a WNBA game soon.
“We gotta get you to a WNBA game,” Reese said.
“I wanna come. I was trying to come to one, but my schedule be all over the place,” Red replied.
“I’m going to invite you to a game next year and you’re going to be courtside,” Reese promised.
When asked to commit, Red vowed she’d show up no matter what.
“On my kids, stop playing. For real. I be supporting the women,” she said.
“You don’t be going to NBA games,” Reese teased, making them both burst into laughter.
“I be trying to support people. If they invite me, when people invite me, I don’t turn down invites. That’s what I’m saying, you invite me, so I’m coming,” Red added.
Their conversation continued with Reese asking where they would hang out later that night. Red suggested going to the studio and even offered Reese a spot on one of her tracks. Reese playfully suggested naming the song Ghetto Devil or Ghetto Angel.
Angel Reese’s Major Sponsor Strikes Multi-Year Deal with WNBA
Before the interview aired, Angel Reese made headlines when her major sponsor, Reebok, secured a multi-year deal with the WNBA to become the league’s official footwear supplier.
Reese praised the partnership and highlighted Reebok’s support for women in sports.
“Reebok has been such an amazing partner and advocate for women in sport,” Reese said in the official press release. “As strong female athletes, we can use our platform to set an example for young players coming up in the sport. I’m happy to see the WNBA and Reebok supporting one another because I know that together we’re so much stronger, and our reach is so much further.”
After a standout 2024 WNBA season, Angel Reese is set to compete in the new Unrivaled 3×3 league starting in January.
