As of January 7, 2025, the Kentucky Wildcats women’s basketball team is ranked 15th in the Associated Press (AP) Top 25 Poll and 16th in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll. The Wildcats have achieved a 13-1 overall record, including a 2-0 start in Southeastern Conference (SEC) play. Notably, they set a school record by making 18 three-pointers in a game against Mississippi State and followed up with 15 three-pointers against Vanderbilt, marking the first time in program history they’ve made 15 or more three-pointers in consecutive games.
Other SEC teams in the rankings include South Carolina (No. 2 in both polls), Texas (No. 5 in AP, No. 6 in Coaches Poll), LSU (No. 6 in AP, No. 4 in Coaches Poll), Oklahoma (No. 10 in AP, No. 11 in Coaches Poll), Tennessee (No. 16 in AP, No. 15 in Coaches Poll), and Alabama (No. 18 in AP, No. 19 in Coaches Poll).
Looking ahead, Kentucky is scheduled to play Florida on Thursday, January 9, 2025, in Gainesville, followed by a home game against Auburn on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Memorial Coliseum.
