In the 2024-25 season, he’s averaging 2.8 points and 0.6 assists per game, with shooting percentages of 30.3% from the field and 20.9% from beyond the arc.
Despite these struggles, Vincent’s defensive contributions have been noteworthy. The Lakers allow 114.9 points per 100 possessions with him on the court, compared to 117.9 points when he’s off, highlighting his defensive impact. His physicality and determination in fighting over screens have been valuable assets to the team’s defense.
Adjusting to a new role has also been a factor in Vincent’s performance. Transitioning from a primary ball-handler with the Miami Heat to playing more off-ball with the Lakers has been challenging. Vincent acknowledged this adjustment, stating, “It’s definitely an adjustment to not be on the ball at all. Something that I kind of struggled early on getting used to.”

Vincent made his first start for the Lakers against the Utah Jazz, contributing 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting, along with three rebounds, two assists, and one steal. This marked his first double-digit scoring game with the team, indicating potential for offensive growth.
The Lakers’ coaching staff and teammates have expressed support for Vincent during his adjustment period. LeBron James commented on Vincent’s return from injury, stating, “I thought he was great in the minutes he was out there. It was great to have him back.” Head coach Darvin Ham also noted Vincent’s defensive efforts and anticipated improvement in his offensive rhythm as he gains more playing time.
