WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson Signs Major Extension with Nike

Reigning WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces secured a six-year extension with Nike on Tuesday, according to multiple reports.

While the exact terms of the deal remain undisclosed, ESPN’s Shams Charania described it as “one of the richest shoe deals for a women’s basketball player.”

Nike’s women’s basketball roster already features Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, who signed a deal worth over $20 million earlier this year, and Sabrina Ionescu of the league champion New York Liberty.

Wilson’s signature shoe, the A’One, was announced in the spring and is set to launch ahead of the next WNBA season, which tips off on May 16.

“It’s been incredible working with Nike toward a dream of having my collection, and it really is an honor to take this next step and become a Nike signature athlete,” Wilson said in a statement in May.

Wilson earned her third MVP award last season, averaging 26.9 points and 11.9 rebounds per game before falling to Ionescu’s Liberty in the WNBA semifinals.
