Los Angeles Sparks star Cameron Brink has officially joined the newly-formed 3×3 basketball league, Unrivaled, signing a multi-year deal with the Lunar Owls. However, due to her current recovery from a torn ACL, she won’t take the court until the 2026 season.
Sparks Fans Can Breathe Easy
Despite her commitment to Unrivaled, Sparks fans don’t need to worry about Brink’s availability in the WNBA. Unrivaled will operate during the WNBA offseason, providing players with competitive opportunities while maintaining their league commitments.
The league, founded by WNBA stars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, has already secured TV rights with TNT, TruTv, and Max. Its inaugural season kicks off on Jan. 17 in Miami, where all games will be played.
Brink’s Excitement and Role Before 2026
In an exclusive interview with People, Brink shared her excitement about joining the new league:
> “It was honestly a really easy yes. [I’m] just honored that they offered me a spot and an opportunity. I’m really excited and super grateful.”
Although she won’t be playing until 2026, Brink plans to be involved as much as possible:
> “Obviously I won’t be playing, but I will be supporting full-fledged. I think it’s just going to be a really cool opportunity. Iron sharpens iron, so while I’m there, I’ll be able to train with people and work on my game.
> “It’ll be really a huge year of growth for me — so, I’m really excited.”
A Promising Career Interrupted
Before her injury, Brink showed promising potential as a defensive force. In 15 starts, she averaged 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, and 1.3 steals per game. Unfortunately, her torn ACL ended her rookie season early and kept her from competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics with Team USA’s 3×3 team. Dearica Hamby, her Sparks teammate, replaced her and helped Team USA secure a bronze medal.
Looking Ahead: Brink is expected to return to the WNBA in time for the 2025 season, where she aims to build on her strong rookie campaign. Her involvement with Unrivaled starting in 2026 will allow her to stay competitive and sharpen her skills during the WNBA offseason.
Sparks fans can look forward to seeing Brink back in action, ready to dominate both leagues in the coming years.
