The Dallas Wings have appointed Camille Smith and Nola Henry as assistant coaches under new head coach Chris Koclanes. Both previously served as assistant coaches for the Los Angeles Sparks during the 2024 season under then-head coach Curt Miller.
Camille Smith, formerly known as Camille Little, brings a wealth of experience to the Wings. She has been the head women’s basketball coach at Paul Quinn College, a Dallas-based HBCU, since 2022. Smith enjoyed a 13-year WNBA career, retiring in 2019 after playing for teams including the San Antonio Silver Stars, Seattle Storm—where she won a WNBA Championship in 2010—Connecticut Sun, and Phoenix Mercury. She was also honored as one of the top 25 players in Seattle Storm franchise history during the 2024 season.
Smith’s coaching career began in 2020 as a player development coach for the Dallas Wings. Her return to the Wings as an assistant coach is seen as a significant addition, given her deep ties to the Dallas-Fort Worth community and her commitment to excellence. Head coach Chris Koclanes praised Smith’s competitiveness, professionalism, and defensive acumen, emphasizing her potential to enhance the team’s defensive identity.
Nola Henry, who also joins the Wings’ coaching staff, has a background that includes serving as an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Sparks. She has expressed enthusiasm about contributing to the development of the Wings’ players and the team’s overall success.
